Soprano
Lixin Liu is a soprano who gained her Bachelor Degree from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2015, and is now a second year Masters student under the tutelage of Mary Plazas at the RNCM. She was selected as a member of the first group of RNCM ‘Songsters’ singers in 2015-2016, giving her numerous opportunities to perform in different concerts and to work with great artists such as Sir Thomas Allen, Sir John Tomlinson, Julius Drake and Alice Coote. She has been selected as a member of the ‘Songsters’ again this year.
Since being at the college, she has performed the role of Sophie (Werther), Constance (Dialogues de Carmelites), Clara (La Vie Parisienne) and Laurette (Le Docteur Miracle) as part of RNCM Opera Scenes. She has also played the role of Gretel (Hansel und Gretel) Clorinda (La Cenerentola), Ilia (Idomeneo) and Fox Cubs (The Cunning Little Vixen) in various summer schools. Her solo experiences include singing at London Cadogan Hall, London’s O2 Arena and Leeds Town Hall. In addition, she has been invited to the Chinese Embassy in Manchester numerous times to perform at various occasions. Her recent solo engagements include singing Beethoven’s Mass in C with CHORALE and Cheshire Sinfonia, Handel’s Dixit Dominus and Bach’s Magnificat in D with William Byrd Singers of Manchester.
Her choral experience includes performing the Seven Gates of Jerusalem (UK premiere) under the baton of the composer Krzysztof Penderecki. She sung Beethoven’s Symphony No 9 at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, a performance conducted by Mark Shanahan. She has also been involved in performances of Die Meistersinger (Wagner) and A Midsummer Night’s Dream as a member of the RNCM chamber choir, both conducted by Sir Mark Elder.
刘莉欣，抒情花腔女高音，来自湖南， 大学毕业于皇家北方音乐学院，现获得奖学金于母校继续攻读硕士学位, 师从著名女高音歌唱家Mary Plazas。自18岁开始学习美声唱法以来，她扮演过的歌剧角色有Sophie (Werther), Constance (Dialogues de Carmelites), Clara (La Vie Parisienne), Laurette (Le Docteur Miracle), Gretel (Hansel und Gretel), Clorinda (La Cenerentola), Ilia (Idomeneo) 和Fox Cubs (The Cunning Little Vixen) 。在校期间，她很荣幸有机会与著名指挥家Sir Mark Elder和Mark Shanahan合作，并参与波兰作曲家及指挥家Krzysztof Penderecki先生亲自指挥他自己的作品第七交响乐耶路撒冷七道门在英国的首演。
